These cherry limeade slushies are easy to make and perfect for summer!

Cherry Limeade Slushies

I’ve become slightly obsessed with making lemonades and limeades this summer.  It’s not only extremely hot where I live, but it’s also very humid too.  I’ve always loved summer, but one thing I absolutely hate is the humidity.  If you live somewhere where it’s humid then you probably understand.  Good hair days do not exist for me during the summer.  Ever.

But one thing I do love about summer are the cold and refreshing drinks that come along with it.  I’ve mentioned it several times before, but as a teenager Sonic used to be my go-to place for drinks and cherry limeades were an almost daily occurrence.

Now it’s just an occasional treat for me, but since I’ve started making my own at home I have to say I enjoy them much more!  This recipe starts with a homemade limeade recipe that’s easy to make.  I made a simple syrup for this recipe since this is a cold and icy drink you want to make sure the sugar is fully dissolved.

Once you make the simple syrup, just combine it with fresh lime juice and water and refrigerate it until you’re ready to make these slushies.  The limeade is great to make ahead of time and if you have any leftover you can just drink it.  Yes!

I used frozen cherries in this recipe, which I loved and they’re a little more convenient.  I also added some ice, but you can certainly leave the ice out if you prefer.

Hope you enjoy!  Have a great Monday, friends!
