Lemon Cake

Easy Step-by-Step Instructions!

In one bowl mix together the dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt

In a separate bowl mix together the wet ingredients: buttermilk, oil, lemon juice, and vanilla

In the bowl of a standing mixer beat together the butter, sugar and lemon zest until light and fluffy 

Add the eggs to the butter mixture, one at a time. Then add the dry ingredients and the wet ingredients to the bowl

Divide the batter evenly between the two cake tins and bake. Let the cake layers cool completely before making the frosting. 

With a mixer, beat together cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and lemon juice

Level the top of each cake, place one layer on a cake stand and top with frosting
