Homemade Buttermilk Biscuits

These easy buttermilk biscuits are incredibly soft, tall, flaky, and buttery. Serve these with some jam or gravy for an easy breakfast!

all-purpose flourĀ  baking powder baking soda sugar salt unsalted butter cold buttermilk

What you need:

Whisk together the dry ingredients then cut in cubed cold butter until you have small pea-sized pieces of butter. Gently stir in the cold buttermilk.

Pat the dough into a rectangle and fold it into thirds. Turn the dough, gather any crumbs, and flatten back into a rectangle. Repeat the folding process two more times.

Cut out the biscuits and arrange them on a baking sheet. Brush the top of each one with a little bit of buttermilk.

Bake until the tops are lightly golden brown, then brush with melted butter and enjoy!
